10 parks will have extra public toilets accessible to everyone. That takes some of the pressure off the boiler. Catering establishments can't just let people in because of the corona measures, not even with 'high distress'. There is also an extra need for toilets in parks this summer, because many Amsterdammers are recreating in their own city.
More than 40 extra toilets are available until September. There is always 1 toilet for wheelchair users. They are in the Beatrixpark, Wertheimpark, Sloterpark, Rembrandtpark, Erasmuspark, Flevopark, Oosterpark, Gaasperplas, Nelson Mandelapark and Noorderpark. Because of the corona virus they are cleaned 3 times a day.
Previously, extra temporary toilets have been placed in places where it is busy. Like in the Vondelpark, the Schinkeleilanden, the Sloterstrand, the Weesperzijde, the Bogortuin, the Gardens of West, the Martin Luther Kingpark and the Westerpark.
Also useful to know is that the toilets in the 7 city counters are always accessible to everyone during opening hours.
On HogeNood app you can see where the public toilets are. They are also in the HogeNood app. The app can be downloaded free of charge to your phone and shows you where the nearest toilet is, and for whom the toilet is accessible.
